These soaps, released in July, are a nod to two very important people in my life - my mom, and my brother, Gerry. Birthdays always involved a special cake and Mom made them all from scratch. Gerry’s birthday falls in July and his favourite 2 cakes are plain chocolate cake - warm right out of the oven, no icing, and Mom’s Jell-o Lime Pudding cake. This is a yellow cake where you poke holes with a skewer all throughout the cake and then pour warm lime Jell-o to seep in. Once cooled, it’s topped with vanilla pudding as the “icing”. That cake still gets a lot of requests from her grandchildren (and Gerry).
I included a pic of Mom. She raised me to be a strong and independent woman. Little did she know just how much I would need those skills caring for a spouse with a terminal illness. Mom is 84 and still baking every day :)
I also included a picture of Gerry. He’s the brother I call when I need help with anything - house repairs, vehicle issues, someone to help me move. He is the hardest working person I know, with a very giving heart. He never says no to anything I ask of him.
